BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) officially held the Semen Baturaja Tennis Championship 2025 — a tennis tournament for school age groups in OKU Raya Regency.

The activity, which was held for two days (11-12 May 2025) by the Semen Baturaja Sports, Spirituality & Arts Development Agency (Baporkes SMBR) in collaboration with the Indonesian Lawn Tennis Association (PELTI) OKU, was held at the SMBR Sport Center Tennis Court, Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU), South Sumatra.

Carrying the theme “Reaping Meaning in Togetherness, Reaping Benefits in Skills”, this tournament was officially opened by Regent H. Teddy Meilwansyah, S.STP., M.M., M.Pd together with SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya on Sunday (11/5/2025).

Also present at the opening ceremony were Dandim 0403 OKU Lieutenant Colonel Arh Yusuf Winarno, S.I.P., M.Han, Assistant III to the OKU Regional Secretariat H. Romson Fitri, Baturaja Timur Police Chief AKP Azwan, S.H., M.H., Head of PELTI OKU Kompol Ginting, S.H., Treasurer of Koni OKU Reza Fahlevi, Head of the OKU Youth and Sports Service Ir. Joni Saihu, S.P., M.Si and other invited guests.

The tennis tournament for students held for the first time by SMBR was attended by 67 participants, both singles and doubles categories, from the age group of 10 to 16 years. The participants came from government agencies, educational institutions, and tennis clubs in the OKU Raya area.

“This is the first time Semen Baturaja has held a Tennis Tournament for students, this tournament is not just a competition, but also a means of instilling positive values ​​through sports. Especially encouraging interest in Tennis among students in OKU Raya,” said SMBR President Director Suherman Yahya in his speech.

More than just a sport, this tournament is a form of SMBR’s real contribution in strengthening the development of Human Resources (HR) through student sports achievements. This initiative is in line with the grand vision in President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, which places the development of superior HR as the main pillar towards the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.

Suherman also said that this tournament is a form of Semen Baturaja’s commitment to encouraging a healthy lifestyle, building collaborative networks between agencies and fostering a positive competitive spirit. “Sports teach us about discipline, respect, fighting spirit and solidarity, values ​​that are very relevant both in the world of work and everyday life,” said Suherman.

Suherman also appreciated the participation of participants from various sectors in OKU Raya, he hopes that this activity can be carried out routinely every year with a greater number of participants and even with a wider scope. “In the future, we want this activity to be carried out every year and can be increased to a higher level, if currently it is only OKU Raya, in the future maybe at the South Sumatra or South Sumatra level,” he added.

Suherman said, this activity was deliberately held in OKU because PT Semen Baturaja wanted to contribute to the surrounding community considering that almost all Semen Baturaja employees moved to OKU after the Operations were centered in Bumi Sebantu Sekudang.

“We want our presence to be felt by the community, we want to contribute to the surrounding community. This activity can also be a forum for the community, especially children, to show their performance achievements, later there will be the birth of athlete seeds from OKU not only at the Regency level but also at the national and even international levels,” he said.

Suherman said, Semen Baturaja has many sports facilities that can be used to train and produce outstanding athletes. “We have many sports facilities that can be utilized such as swimming pools, tennis courts, and others. Hopefully, these facilities can later produce athletes who excel,” he said.

Chairman of Baporkes SMBR M. Furqon, said that the Semen Baturaja Tennis Championship was held on the initiative of the President Director of SMBR Suherman Yahya.

The President Director, he said, entrusted Baporkes SMBR to hold a tennis tournament. To make the tournament a success, Baporkes collaborated with Pelti. “Hopefully it will be successful. The purpose of this event is to increase the hobby of tennis and to establish friendship,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Regent of OKU H. Teddy Meilwansyah, S.STP., M.M., M.Pd greatly appreciated the initiation of student-level tennis by PT Semen Baturaja, even Teddy welcomed and fully supported the activity. “We are very grateful to PT Semen Baturaja for initiating and promoting Tennis Sports in Baturaja,” said Teddy.

Teddy continued that this activity is the first step for all stakeholders in fostering young athletes to show their talents and abilities in the future so that they can produce high-achieving athletes. “Hopefully in the future it can be held sustainably, not only in OKU but if possible at the regional and even national levels,” he said.

Teddy said, the OKU Regency Government strongly supports this activity, even in the future the OKU Regency Government is ready to collaborate in similar activities for a larger level. “We, as stakeholders, will synergize in everything, not only in Tennis but all other sports. We hope this can be a trigger for other BUMN, BUMD to jointly promote sports in OKU,” he said.

The tournament supported by 22 sponsors was closed with high enthusiasm. In the KU (Age Group) 10 category, the men’s singles title was won by M. Abid Alfatih from SMBR Tennis Club, while the women’s category was won by Allysa Zafira Arsyfatunnisa from Teri Tennis Club. Teri Tennis Club’s dominance was also seen in KU12, with Alkan Zahran Pratama from Keluarga Tennis Club and Naifah Keynes Natadahri from Teri Tennis Club emerging as the men’s and women’s singles champions. For KU14, Ahdan Aganta Nur Sandhika from BK 10 OKU Timur won the men’s singles title, while Vincia Caroline from Teri Tennis Club won the women’s singles title.

In the Age Group 10-13 years old men’s doubles category, the pair Alkan Zahran Pratama and M. Alief Fakhri from Keluarga Tennis Club won first place, while the women’s doubles were won by Kamila Amora Aimi and Naifah Keynes Natadahari from Teri Tennis Club. The 14-16 age group category for men’s doubles was won by Mikael Jhosue Lee Raharja and Ricardo Keane from Teri Tennis Club, while in the women’s doubles, the pair Tachira Radinka Arinie and Qirania Alkarizki from Keluarga Tennis Club won the top position. Semen Baturaja Records Brilliant Performance, Net Profit in Q1 – 2025 Skyrockets 864%

BATURAJA – Based on data from the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI), national cement demand in Q1-2025 was recorded to have decreased by 7.4% compared to the same period last year. However, amidst the weakening national trend, the market in the Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) region actually showed positive growth of 2.4% compared to last year.

This relatively resilient regional market performance is one of the supporting factors for PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), to record impressive growth throughout Q1-2025.

Throughout January to March 2025, cement sales volume reached 533,337 tons, growing 10% compared to the same period last year of 486,643 tons. Not only supported by cement sales growth, the increase was also supported by the positive performance of the product diversification line. White clay sales volume was recorded at 9,125 tons, a 104% jump compared to the same period last year of 4,468 tons.

Along with the increase in sales volume, the company’s revenue grew 22% to IDR527.82 billion from the previous IDR432.4 billion. This growth was driven by sales contributions to related parties of IDR487.11 billion, sales to third parties of IDR34.27 billion, and sales from the non-cement business segment (product diversification) which also provided an additional IDR6.42 billion.

SMBR’s financial performance also showed a significant jump, with a net profit of IDR48.96 billion or a jump of 864% compared to the same period last year of IDR5.07 billion. EBITDA also increased 62% to IDR130.08 billion, reflecting continued improvement in efficiency in the production and operational processes.

In addition to recording solid financial performance, SMBR recorded an increase in sustainability performance in Q1-2025. The reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions was successfully suppressed to 548.42 kgCO₂/ton cement eq, down from 594.51 kgCO₂/ton cement eq in the same period last year. This decrease was driven by the optimization of the use of alternative fuels or Alternative Fuel and Raw Material (AFR) which increased by 82% to 5,273 tons from the previous 2,897 tons. Along with that, the Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) also increased from 1.84% to 3.16%.

This achievement is the result of the company’s success in implementing a development strategy that is in line with the direction of the parent company SIG. The application of the principles of Manufacturing Excellence, Cost Leadership Initiatives, and Sustainable Business are key factors in maintaining SMBR’s performance to remain solid, growing, and sustainable amidst industry challenges.

“The growth we achieved at the beginning of this year is the result of our focus on implementing strategies that are in line with the direction of the parent company, which not only strengthens the company’s competitiveness but also creates long-term value,” said Hari Liandu, Vice President of Corporate Secretary of SMBR.

Hari also added that SMBR will continue to maintain this momentum by encouraging innovation, operational efficiency, and strengthening collaboration with the parent company SIG to face existing challenges.

Support for this positive performance is also reflected in the increase in the company’s credit rating. Last April, PT Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia (PEFINDO) raised SMBR’s rating from idA+ (stable) to idAA– (stable). This increase is based on the audited financial report as of December 31, 2024 and reflects increasingly solid financial fundamentals, as well as SMBR’s strategic position within the SIG Group.

Semen Baturaja Conducts Overhaul of Baturaja 2 Factory, Strengthens K3 Commitment and Optimizes Production

BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, is currently carrying out an overhaul of the Baturaja 2 Factory which will take place from April 14-29, 2025. This overhaul is part of a routine maintenance program that aims to ensure operational reliability and maintain sustainable production quality.

Carrying the theme “OVH 2025 is The Way to Achieve Best Performance”, this year’s overhaul activity is an important part of the strategy to increase factory efficiency and performance in order to support the company’s production targets.

In its implementation, SMBR involves a competent internal technical team and collaborates with professional partners who are experienced in heavy industry maintenance. This collaboration is proof of SMBR’s seriousness in maintaining the best operational standards in each of its production lines, in addition, in this Overhaul activity SMBR also involves local Baturaja workers where out of a total of 673 workers who participated, there were 400 local Baturaja workers.

As part of the opening of the overhaul activity, on Monday (15/4) a Commitment Board was signed as a symbol of joint commitment to the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) culture in the SMBR environment. This signing was attended by all parties involved, from management to field workers, as a form of compliance and responsibility for safety procedures during the activity.

SMBR Operations Director Muhammad Syafitri in his speech said that this overhaul was not only aimed at maintaining the performance of production equipment, but also became part of the company’s commitment to reliable and safe operations.

“The Baturaja 2 Factory Overhaul is a strategic step to maintain the stability of the production process. More than that, we also emphasize the importance of compliance with K3 aspects so that all activities run safely and smoothly. This commitment must be maintained by all parties involved, without compromise,” said Muhammad Syafitri.

Furthermore, Syafitri added that this activity is expected to increase the efficiency and performance of the factory so as to support the target of increasing SMBR’s production volume in 2025.

“With the factory operating optimally after the overhaul, we hope that production capacity can be maximized. In 2024, cement production volume was recorded to have increased by 6% compared to the 2023 period, and we are optimistic that this positive trend will continue,” he added.

In addition, to ensure that the implementation of the K3 culture runs consistently in the field, SMBR also carried out a Safety Observation Tour (SOT) activity with SIG in the Baturaja 2 Factory area on Tuesday (22/4) and on the following day Wednesday (23/04) with the Contractor’s top management to jointly carry out Safety Observation Tour (SOT) activities in the work area carried out by the contractor.

This activity aims to directly observe work safety practices, identify potential risks, and ensure that all workers implement safety standards in a disciplined and sustainable manner.

Disaster Response, Semen Baturaja Together with BAZNAS Provide Assistance for Flood Victims in Bandar Lampung

LAMPUNG – Heavy rain that has poured over the Bandar Lampung area since Monday morning (21/4) has caused flooding in several areas of the city. One of the affected areas is Way Lunik Village and Pidada Village, Panjang District, Bandar Lampung. The flood submerged residents’ houses, caused infrastructure damage, and hampered community activities.

As a form of concern for affected residents, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) together with the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) again distributed basic food packages to flood victims.

The assistance distributed was in the form of 400 basic food packages for two sub-districts, namely Way Lunik and Pidada, which are located around SMBR’s operational area in Panjang. Each food package contains basic necessities such as 5 kg of rice, 1 liter of cooking oil, 1 kg of wheat flour, 200 grams of soy sauce, 1 kg of granulated sugar, and one can of sweetened condensed milk (SKM).

The aid was handed over by Senior Manager of Palembang & Panjang Plant SMBR Ade Dwi Wijayanto on Tuesday (23/4) in their respective sub-districts, and was symbolically received by Way Lunik Village Head Doddy Marthalaga and Village Secretary Pidada Mizuardi. Furthermore, the aid will be distributed through each RT so that it can be distributed to residents in need.

“This is a real manifestation of SMBR’s commitment to being present and helping the surrounding community, especially those around our operational area. We hope that this assistance can slightly ease the burden on residents affected by the flood,” said Ade during the aid handover.

Previously, in January, SMBR together with BAZNAS had also distributed similar aid to the community in the same area. This consistency reflects SMBR’s ongoing concern for disaster victims around the company’s operational environment.

BATURAJA – PT Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia (Pefindo) has again raised the rating of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (IDX: SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) (IDX: SMGR) to “IdAA-” with a stable outlook, from the previous “idA+” stable. This latest rating determination is based on the audited financial report as of December 31, 2024, and strengthens confidence in SMBR’s strategic role in the SIG Group and its future growth potential.

Pefindo stated that the stable “IdAA-” rating reflects the strong level of support from SIG as a parent company that has a stable “IdAAA” rating, SMBR’s strong market position in the Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) region, and a strong capital structure. Stable operational performance and strategic relationships with SIG are also the mainstays of this assessment.

Poslansia Pratama Semen Baturaja Clinic, Evidence of Consistent Concern for the Elderly

BATURAJA – After being inaugurated in October last year, the Integrated Elderly Service Post (Poslansia) initiated by the Semen Baturaja Employee Wives Association (IIKSB) at the Semen Baturaja Pratama Clinic, continues to run routinely every month as a form of commitment to improving the health quality of the elderly.

The program, which is supported by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), is held every second week of every month. This activity is attended by the elderly consisting of retired SMBR employees.

In each meeting, the elderly receive basic health check-up services such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar levels, and regular health consultations. In addition, SMBR through the Berlian Program (Empowering Mothers, Children and the Elderly) also routinely distributes aid in the form of medicines to support the sustainability of health services for the elderly.

One of the SMBR retirees, Mrs. Tina Jhonson, expressed her appreciation for the sustainability of this program. “Since Poslansia was established, I feel calmer because our health is monitored routinely. Medicines are also always available, so we don’t have to worry anymore. Thank you to IIKSB and SMBR who still care about us who have retired,” she said.

Growing 6.3%, Semen Baturaja Books Profit of IDR 129.25 Billion in 2024

BATURAJA – Amidst market conditions that are experiencing correction and oversupply pressure, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has managed to record positive performance in 2024.

SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary Hari Liandu said that in 2024, SMBR managed to record revenue of IDR 2.09 trillion or an increase of 2.5% compared to the previous year of IDR 2.04 trillion. Although the domestic market experienced a correction, SMBR was able to increase cement sales volume by 2.23 million tons or grow 3.4% compared to the previous year of 2.16 million tons.

Revenue was supported by sales to related parties of IDR 2.00 trillion. Then also obtained from sales to third parties of IDR 62.56 billion and followed by sales of non-cement business segments or product diversification worth IDR 18.88 billion. In addition, SMBR also managed to cut sales expenses by 19.5% to IDR161.3 billion from IDR200.4 billion compared to the previous year’s period. Likewise, general and administrative expenses fell 11.9% to IDR203.3 billion from IDR230.8 billion compared to the previous year’s period. Financial expenses also experienced a significant decrease of 20% to IDR78.85 billion from IDR98.60 billion compared to the previous year’s period.

“As a result, SMBR was able to pocket a current year profit of IDR129.25 billion, this figure increased by 6.3% compared to net profit in 2023 which was IDR121.57 billion,” said Hari.

“This achievement was driven by a cost leadership strategy through operational excellence, which includes improving equipment performance, optimizing the supply chain, and efficiency across all operational lines. In addition, we also continue to develop new sources of income and strengthen synergies with SIG as the parent company,” he said.

In addition to business performance growth, SMBR continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability. SMBR recorded a significant achievement by successfully reducing carbon emissions to 561.5 kg CO2/Ton Cement Equivalent (Cem) from the previous 577.4 kg CO2/Ton Cem in 2023. This emission reduction was supported by an increase in the use of alternative fuels (Alternative Fuel & Raw Material/AFR), which reached 9,401 tons or grew 41% compared to 2023 which was 6,661 tons, as well as a decrease in the total clinker factor to 67.2% from the previous 68.6%.

Thanks to these efforts, SMBR succeeded in achieving the 2024 Green PROPER from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) of the Republic of Indonesia.

More than just an environmental achievement, SMBR’s success in reducing carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiency also brings financial benefits to the company. As a recipient of the Sustainability-Linked Loan (SLL) syndicated credit facility, SMBR received incentives in the form of a potential reduction in bank loan interest expenses. In this scheme, achieving sustainability targets, such as reducing carbon emissions and increasing the use of alternative energy, contributes to lowering credit interest rates, thereby helping the company’s financial cost efficiency.

“This reduction in carbon emissions cannot be separated from SMBR’s strategy in increasing the use of alternative fuels and reducing clinker factors, which contribute significantly to energy efficiency and reducing environmental impacts. This effort is in line with SMBR’s commitment to implementing ESG, where we continue to innovate in environmentally friendly technology and encourage the use of renewable energy to support the creation of a sustainable cement industry. Semen Baturaja Spreads Ramadan Kindness, Distributes Aid to Orphans, TPA, and Mosques Around the Company

BATURAJA – Ramadan is a special moment to share and spread happiness. PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), continues to show its commitment to supporting the surrounding community by distributing aid to orphans, Al-Quran Education Parks (TPA), and mosques in the company’s operational area in Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU), South Sumatra.

As part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, SMBR distributed 100 school equipment packages for orphans in three orphanages, namely Mustika Orphanage, An Nur Muhammadiyah Orphanage, and Ashifa Orphanage. The aid consisted of school bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, colored crayons, erasers, and pencil sharpeners. The aid was handed over on Friday (21/3) to the management of the local orphanage and was enthusiastically welcomed by the beneficiary children.

In addition, SMBR also distributed aid in the form of 46 rehal, 46 Al-Quran mushaf, and 230 Iqra books to 31 TPA ​​and 16 mosques in the area around the company. This aid aims to support religious education and improve community worship facilities.

Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility SMBR, Kristan Teguh, said that this activity is a form of the company’s concern for the surrounding community and SMBR’s commitment to providing sustainable benefits.

The distribution of this aid is also in line with the Asta Cita program of the Prabowo-Gibran government, especially the eighth point which emphasizes the importance of balance between the environment, culture, and religious life in realizing a just and prosperous society.

One of the aid recipients, Halisa Armita from the An Nur Muhammadiyah Orphanage, expressed her happiness at receiving new school equipment. “Thank you Semen Baturaja, I am happy to get a new bag and books. So I am more enthusiastic about studying to achieve my dreams,” she said enthusiastically.

Meanwhile, Sandra Yulita, administrator of the Nurul Falah Sukajadi Mosque, expressed her appreciation for the assistance provided. “This is a very positive initiative, especially in this blessed month. Hopefully, this kind of concern will continue and more parties will be moved to share in this holy month,” she said.

BATURAJA – In the spirit of sharing in the holy month of Ramadan 1446 H, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), held a ‘Sharing Takjil’ activity for 27 mosques in the Baturaja area, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU), South Sumatra. This activity took place from March 3-21, 2025 and collaborated with the SMBR Sports and Arts Development Agency (Baporkes).

A total of 100 portions of free takjil were distributed to each mosque to help the congregation break their fast. In addition, SMBR also distributed takjil to drivers and the community around the company’s operational area. The distribution was carried out at several strategic points, such as main road intersections and areas around the factory.

Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility SMBR Kristan Teguh emphasized that this takjil sharing program is a form of the company’s commitment to supporting the community and strengthening existing relationships. “Ramadan is a month full of blessings, and SMBR wants to share happiness with the surrounding community.
