PALEMBANG – Through its CSR program, Semen Baturaja has once again invited the locals of Ring 1 Kertapati village to practice catfish farming.

The locals have been directly taught by Arwadi, acting as practitioner of catfish farming, through explanation about various theories related to catfish farming on 25 July 2019. Then, on Friday, 13 December, the locals were invited to directly practice the catfish farming by utilizing the biofloc and microbubble techniques that are easily applicable.

Hopefully, the materials provided in the training by Semen baturaja can prove to be beneficial and to encourage locals nearby to create new work opportunities that can be helpful in improving their quality of life.

PALEMBANG – Semen Baturaja has collaborated with the South Sumatra Social Welfare CSR Forum to organize technical training of concrete brick (Batako) and paving block (Konblok) manufacturing on Thursday, 12 December, taking place at the CSR Forum’s office on the city of Palembang.

The event was attended by the head of South Sumatra Provincial Public Housing and Settlement Areas, Basyarudding Akhmad, alongside the head of South Sumatra Social Welfare CSR Forum, Nata Kesuma and Ade Chitra Kusuma, acting as the VP Corporate Services Management of Semen Baturaja.

The purpose of this training is to provide the necessary skill and expertise in concrete brick and paving block manufacturing for the construction workers that qualifies with present specification demand, while also improving their competitive quality in working world.

As one of South Sumatra’s construction enterprises, Semen Baturaja also contributes in pushing the development of construction ventures through manufacturing high quality and excellent infrastructure-related products.

PALEMBANG – Big congratulations were given to Semen Baturaja men’s volleyball team for winning the first place in the South Sumatra Ministry of Youth and Sport Tournament 2019 o Saturday, 30 November.

The tournament was held at Kaphota court on Palembang City from 26 to 30 November 2019. A total of 42 volley teams, consisting of 27 men’s team and 15 women’s team, had participated in the event.

The second, third, and fourth winner of men’s team category were being won by team RBO, team UIN B, and team PGRI

PALEMBANG – On Monday, 2 December, the Head Office of Semen Baturaja has received a recess visitation from Palembang Regional People;s Representative Council of Electoral District VI on the occasion of conveying society’s aspiration for the Management of SMBR.

The visitation was lead by Dr. H. Fauzi Ahmad SH. MH. together with members: Siti Suhaifa (PKB), Sukri Zen (Gerindra), M. Firmansyah SE. MM. (PDIP), Fahri Ardianto (Golkar), Ali Subri (Nasdem), Fauzi Ahmad (PAN), Zainal Abidin (Demokrat), and Ilyas Hasbullah (Demokrat).

The purpose of the Palembang’s Council visitation is to improve upon the relationship with SMBR, while also to bring upon some follow-up proposals.

“Our intention here, other than to deepen our ties with each other, is to propose some suggestions for consideration, such as road construction”, as stated by the Electoral District VI Recess Leader and Palembang’s Council member DR. H. Fauzi Achmad SH. MH. during the visit.

He continued that so far, SMBR has already done very well in developing and constructing roads and other public facilities in the nearby area.

In correspondance to what has been stated by the recess leader, the Head of Kertapati sub-district, Dwi Yudiansyah S.STP, also mentioned that thus far, SMBR has tremendously helped locals nearby; whether it is the infrastructure repairment, sanitation tax, and many other accommodations. Lastly, he also hopes the best for SMBR.

Basthony Santri, acting as the Vice President Corporate Secretary of SMBR, has stated that the company has send CSR support towards the local of Ring 1 in each branch of plant (Palembang, Baturaja, and Lampung). The support is classified into 7 categories, they are: natural disaster relief, education and coaching, health improvement, religious facilities, tools and infrastructures, nature’s conservation, and also poverty eradication. The CSR relief was provided in accordance to the State-owned Enterprise Regulation number PER-09/MBU/07/2015 concerning Partnership Program and Corporate Social Responsibility, which includes a maximum of 4% post-tax net income allowance that is to be allocated in the CSR program.

The company has also been fulfilling its obligation to pay tax and retribution annually in accordance to the applicable terms and regulations, which includes: surface water tax, land and housing tax, road tax, sanitation tax, and harbors internal waters retribution to each instance within the government of Palembang city.  

“We have received the suggestions proposed by the Palembang People’s Council during their recess visitation, and we will proceed to evaluate and relay the proposals to the management team.”

JAKARTA – Semen Baturaja has again achieved another Indonesia National Standard (INS) Award. In present year of 2019, SMBR has achieved a Silver-tier award after previously won Bronze-tier one in 2018.

The event held by the National Standardization Body of Indonesia on Wednesday, 20 November in Balai Kartini, Jakarta, was attended by the Minister of Research and Technology/Head of the Research and Innovation Agency, Bambang Brodjonegoro.

Semen Baturaja has become one among 69 organizations/companies that were appointed for the SNI Award 2019 after undergoing a series of assessment by the Board of Jury.

The award was given as a token of appreciation towards the strong commitment shown by the industry performers in implementing INS consistently and continuously, performing admirably, and capability in internalizing the social, economic, and environmental aspects within the organization.

Bambang Brodjonegoro hoped that the existence of INS award could bring large impact for the other industry performers in implementing INS, regardless of whether it is the raw materials provider, the manufacturer, distributor, or other party involved.

BATURAJA – For the closing event of SMBR’s 45th Anniversary, Semen Baturaja also held various kinds of “Safety”-themed competitions which aims to teach the value of Safety culture to every member of SMBR’s big family.

Some of the categories of the competition include: Video Safety Contact, Design Safety Quote, SHE Photography, and Safety Talk among work units. These categories have been planned and organized since 5 November 2019.

Then, on Friday, 15 November, it is followed with the Safety Riding and Safety Chants competitions which are being participated by the work unit representatives.

In the Safety Riding contest, Semen Baturaja has collaborated with the Thamrin Brother acting as the organizer partner of the contest and also providing information concerning the methods on how to properly drive a motorcycle while prioritizing safety driving.

SOLO – Semen Baturaja has once more achieved an award from the “Economic Review” on Anugerah Perusahaan TBK Indonesia VI 2019 as “The Best Public Company 2019” within the category of “Cement Industry”, after previously managed to win the same award category in the third place on 2017.

The event Anugerah Perusahaan TBK Indonesia VI 2019 was held by the “Economic Review” magazine on Saturday, 16 November in Lorin Hotel Solo. The award for Semen Baturaja was presented directly by Irlisa Rachmadiana, the Founder and Managing Director of Economic Review, to Basthony Santri, SMBR’s VP Corporate Secretary.

The award encompassed 555 public companies within 9 industry sectors of which all are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange as a public company. A number of 18 companies have been deemed qualified to be included within the criteria of assessment comprising of various sectors in Finance, Risk Management, Company’s Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Information and Technology, Company’s Social Responsibility, Operational, Communication, and CEO.

BATURAJA – In showing the gratitude for its 45th year anniversary, the management team of SMBR along with Semen Baturaja Employee Union and the Employees’ Housewife Association have visited the orphanage of As-Saniyah in Baturaja to officially open a retirement home whose construction has been finished.

In the same occasion, the management of SMBR, the Employee Union, and the Employees Housewife Association have also donated food supplies and other provisions.

This act of philanthropy is a form of social consideration from Semen Baturaja for the good cause of locals living nearby the company’s plant.

In the future, Semen Baturaja will prioritize its aid to focus on education, health, and social aspect through the CSR program. It is in their sincerest hope that the aids they provide can prove to be helpful.

BATURAJA – Still related with the SMBR’s 45th Anniversary Celebration, Semen Baturaja held a Gathering Party that was held on Wisma Ganesha’s Hall, Baturaja at Thursday, 14 November.

The event was attended by the Board of Directors, employees which include contract and outsourcing workers, the company’s subsidiary director (Baturaja Multi Usaha), and Baturaja Daya Insani while also inviting the Semen Baturaja’s Employees’ Housewife Association.

This year’s gathering event is celebrated slightly differently by giving an opportunity to select a representative from employee of different job positions, Millenials representative, Semen Baturaja Employee Union, Subsidiary Company, and the Employees’ Housewife Association to give testimony in the form of speech, wishes, and commitment for Semen Baturaja.

As a token of gratitude, SMBR is providing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aid in the form of academic tuitions ranging from elementary school to university-grade institutions and honorary teachers, and a supply worth of 1000 sacks of cement for the construction of Pondok Pesantren Modern Adz-Zikro.

BATURAJA – One of the important events that are being celebrated annually as part of SMBR’s anniversary is the Ceremony for Employee Appreciation and Years of Service Recognition.

The ceremony, which was held on14 November in Baturaja Plant as part of the company’s anniversary celebration, is highlighted through the awarding of service milestone for SMBR employees whose year of service have hit 10 to 35 years.

In present year of 2019, the award for Service Milestone is given to 4 employees of SMBR from three different plants; the Palembang, Baturaja, and Lampung branches. This award is symbolically presented by SMBR’s Board of Directors.

The Employee Appreciation and Years of Service Recognition award is given as a form of gratitude from the management of SMBR for the unwavering dedication that the employees of SMBR have shown throughout the years.
