Semen Baturaja Holds Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) to Add New Business Activities to Strengthen Business Strategy

JAKARTA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR), a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), held an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) at The East Tower, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (October 29th). The meeting’s agenda included a feasibility study and amendments to the Company’s Articles of Association regarding the addition of new business lines to support the development of a more adaptive and competitive business model amidst the dynamics of the national cement industry.
At the meeting, shareholders received a discussion on the feasibility study and approved the plan to add new business lines, related to the proposed change in the Company’s business lines, including the addition of the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification KBLI 70209 (Other Management Consulting Activities). In addition, the EGMS also approved amendments to the Company’s Articles of Association related to this discussion.
This additional business activity aims to accommodate the Company’s business plan to implement the Area Sales Coordinator concept in Jambi, South Sumatra, and Lampung, with returns in the form of management fees.
The implementation of this new business model is expected to increase the Company’s competitiveness through strategic diversity and multi-brand penetration, while simultaneously driving sustainable revenue growth. This business model strengthens the Company’s position, along with other SIG subsidiaries, in the cement industry, with a closer market approach (micromarket strategy), distribution efficiency, and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to regional market dynamics.
SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Hari Liandu, stated that the implementation of this new business model is a strategic step in expanding market potential while strengthening synergies between entities within the SIG group.
“The implementation of this new business model is a crucial momentum for the Company to strengthen its competitiveness through closer collaboration with other SIG subsidiaries. With the Area Sales Coordinator concept, we can reach the market more effectively, expand product distribution, and create distribution efficiencies across various regions,” said Hari.
Furthermore, Hari emphasized that this new policy direction is a crucial momentum for the Company to strengthen its role as part of the SIG Group value chain.
“We are committed to implementing sustainable business transformation based on the principles of efficiency, innovation, and collaboration. With a more flexible and integrated business model, Semen Baturaja will be able to contribute more significantly to SIG’s performance while strengthening the Company’s long-term business foundation,” he concluded.
