Semen Baturaja Continues to Distribute Aid to Flood Victims in OKU Regency

BATURAJA – PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is again distributing aid to flood victims in Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency which hit some time ago.

This time, SMBR distributed aid to flood victims affected in 6 sub-districts including Batu Kuning, Talang Jawa, Saung Naga, Air Gading, Sukajadi, and Tanjung Agung and residents in Baturaja, OKU District.

Each sub-district received assistance in the form of Rice, Noodles, Eggs, Tea, Coffee, Canned Fish, Mineral Water and Sugar with a total aid of IDR 32.1 million for 6 sub-districts. The local village head immediately received this assistance on Tuesday (14/5).

SMBR Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Hari Liandu stated that the distribution of this aid was a form of the company’s concern for the communities affected by the disaster. This basic food assistance is the second time it has been distributed to affected residents, after previously the company had also distributed clean water and pontoons. This is part of SMBR’s rapid disaster response action.

“This is the second time we have provided basic food assistance to affected residents. “Hopefully this assistance can meet daily needs and let’s pray that this disaster ends quickly and residents can return to their normal activities,” said Hari.

Meanwhile, the Head of Saung Naga Village, M. Reza Nurahman, appreciated SMBR for providing basic food assistance to residents affected by the flood that hit last Tuesday (7/5).

“Thank you very much for Semen Baturaja’s attention in sending aid that can relieve our residents affected by the disaster,” he said.

To date (14/5), SMBR has distributed a total of IDR 113.55 million in aid to flood victims in OKU Regency. The company is committed to continuing to provide support and assistance to communities in need in facing natural disasters as one of BUMN’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Programs.
